Rules & Regulations for Road Travel in Austria
| Vignette or toll? | Vignettes apply on all specified roads in Austria. A vignette between Kufstein süd and the Brixental is not necessary. Vignettes can be purchased at petrol stations |
| Headlights during the day is no longer law! | The use of headlights during the day is no longer mandatory, although recommended by the travel authority. |
| Warning vests must be worn! | In the case of breakdown or accident, warning vests must be worn. (fines apply) |
| Mobile phones | Driving while using mobile phones is banned in Austria(fine from EUR 25,--) |
| Speed limits | fast roads: 100 km/h motorways: 130 km/h comunity areas: 50 km/h (unless otherwise stated) |
| Drink driving limit | Upper limit 0,5-Promille. Driving licence for less than two years 0,1-Promille. |
